The Fetherston Arms, Kirkoswald - June 2017

Dating from 1826 and with the initials C.S.F. (Fetherstonhaugh) over the side archway, this Grade II listed pub escaped the clutches of the State Management Scheme (although the adjacent "The Black Bull" was not so fortunate). The Historic England listing suggests it may have been a "Private Hotel", and such premises were usually exempt from State control if it had no public bar. Photograph is for record only - I have no connection with this business and cannot advise on its products or services.
