Flood Plain Margin
The trees grow on a bank that rises from the flat land of the flood plain of the River Spey. The base of the bank is curved, suggesting that it was carved by meanders of the River Spey.

The house stands behind the farm buildings, concealed by them from the road, and with a pleasant westerly aspect. It is rather larger than most farm houses in the vicinity, and dates from the 18th century.
