	Old Town Road by Anne Burgess This is the furthest extent of development of Aboyne. So far. The name, while it seems inappropriate for modern houses such as these, recalls a time before the centre of the village shifted following the coming of the railway.

	Aboyne Station by Colin Smith The old railway station was open 1859-1966 and is now occupied by shops.
	Pillbox, Ballater Road by Richard Webb Ballater Road (A93) once crossed the railway here by a bridge. The old road is now a residential street. The road railway crossing west of Aboyne also has a pillbox.

I am advised that this may not be the site of the old rail bridge, but a less sturdy structure close downstream of it. This needs further enquiry and photos to check it out please.
