The pools of water do not give much clue as to the depth of the ruts below the bridge. They are pretty deep. The metal box contains a valve which released some excess gas as I passed by.

Steam winding engine house and head gear. Operable on compressed air. We turned up on a Sunday evening, asked at the control room and were treated to a visit to the winder and they ran it for us. Some things were good about the old days.
