Border Oak
The boundaries of the Deer Park was marked with oak trees, often coinciding with the Herefordshire /Shropshire border. Some of the trees are of great age. Sadly the oak trees within Haye Park were nearly all killed by the Forestry Commission.

Woodland, Batchcott
A steep slope, clear felled of conifers in 1978 has been allowed to grow wild. For a while this slope was brambly but now it is easy to walk between the trees.

Deer lawn, The Hope
There has long been a clearing here at the bend in the road. Not sure about today, but there was a deer seat overlooking it. Now flanked by two areas of clearfell.

Road in The Hope
A logging road in what used to be the Haye Park deer park. There was a big band playing up at the house and it could be heard here, just another of the expensive outdoor parties that I encountered many on many days out in England during 2018.

An old path, Haye Park
The shallow gully is the remains of one of the tracks through the Haye Park oak woods. Not much traffic over the past 60 years though, often there was dense woodland and even an attempt to close the place off in the 1970s.

Replanted woodland
New growth on the north side of The Hope.

Larches, Haye Park
Enjoyed a big band sound here, there was a rather flashy party going on at Haye Park House, no longer the abode of a small farm.
