Jonathan Scott Hall, Thorpe Road, Norwich
Jonathan Scott Hall, Thorpe Road, Norwich
This fine Victorian building has been converted into suites of offices, with many different organisations there. Jonathan Scott was in the area from 1846 to 1870 as a Primitive Methodist minister. He lived from 1823-1900 - some of his papers are in Norfolk Record Office. This was built as Scott Memorial Primitive Methodist Church and dedicated to him. It was also known as Thorpe Road Methodist Chapel. It was built about 1901 to the design by his son Augustus Frederick Scott, architect (1854-1936), who also designed Potters House Church in Norwich and many other buildings, see his papers also in Norfolk Record Office.
