Plymouth Sea Monster
Plymouth Sea Monster
The 1996 sculpture, also shown in Link and SX4854 : Plymouth: big fish appears to have been sited exactly on a gridline, so that puts it in SX4854. Nicknames include 'Prawn on the Barbie' and 'Barbican Prawn'. The Plymouth Tourist Information Centre, to whom thanks, emailed me with this information: "The "Sea Monster" on the Barbican was designed by Brian Fell of Glossop, Derbyshire. This mythical sea beast stands 33 ft above West Pier and represents varieties of fish and other marine life landed on the Barbican."
