London to Kings Lynn mainline approaching Ely North Junction
This view was taken from the B1382 towards the junction where the London to Kings Lynn mainline merges with the Breckland Line (Norwich/Norfolk) just south-west from the trees seen at left.

Ely North Junction is located at Queen Adelaide, approximately one-and-a-half miles north of Ely station. From Ely North Junction the electrified ex-GER London-Kings Lynn mainline runs north to Littleport, Downham Market and Kings Lynn. Two non-electrified double-track lines branch at North Junction: one diverges northeast to Norwich (it is marketed as "Breckland Line") and the other northwest to March and Peterborough where there are connections to the East Coast Mainline (ECML) to Scotland and the route to Birmingham.
