A Brocken spectre at Scott's View
I stood on the low wall at the car parking area at the viewpoint for this optical effect. A low sun from behind cast my shadow onto a layer of mist over the River Tweed, and along with the halo-like rings of a glory, a Brocken spectre was formed. The effect is named after sightings on the Brocken mountain in Germany. The Eildon Hills are in the background to the left.
