Records suggest that the school began life in 1872 with two classes. The school remained very much unchanged with outdoor toilets up until around 1960 when a kitchen and indoor toilets were added. In September 2006 work began on a brand new Infant classroom which was completed in June 2007, (left of picture), when it was officially opened by the Bishop of Whitby.
