New saplings in place of felled mature trees on the edge of Berfern Plantation, off Lairds Dyke.
Berfern Plantation

The mainly coniferous commercial plantation was supposed to be "managed" as a community woodland as part of the planning consent conditions for a housing development, but the management resulted in the forest being completely felled following the three winter storms of 2011/2012.
