This is the upper of two concrete pillars on Great Howe overlooking Stockdale. They were used in the surveying of the Haweswater Aqueduct and are visible from each other. From this one it is also possible to see the larger stone survey pillar on Tarn Crag NY4807 : Pillar, Tarn Crag
