Damaged road in the upper Cwm Doethie, Ceredigion
Looking towards Llanddewi-Brefi.
Below Blaendoethie, the road is collapsing away into the Afon Doethie Fawr at the eastern end of this small bridge. The road is a former drover's road between Abergwesyn and Llanddewi-Brefi via Soar-y-Mynydd. It is often used by convoys of erosive "off-roaders" in their four wheel drive vehicles, as well as Mr Edwards the landowner, and all traffic to and from the hostel at Ty'n Cornel. The erosion is also going to extend rapidly during heavy rain, not to mention freeze/thaw this coming winter, and anyone negotiating the bridge in the dark or rain will need to be careful. Army vehicles will be using the road quite a lot during September and October. The council have been informed several times, but have declined to receive my photographs.
