Herbert Murkin Caley's brick, stone and slate Gothic Revival church of 1899, which cost £7,560 including its associated buildings, was originally St John's Free Baptist Church: it was built for a former minister of Emmanuel Church, who seceded after changing his views. It was sold to the Presbyterian Church and is now United Reformed.
