Trolleybus 506 in the Old Market Square – 1
To commemorate 50 years since the last trolleybus ran in Nottingham (1 July 1966) a small display of heritage vehicles was put on by Nottingham City Transport on Monday 4 July. This included trolleybus 506, which was the last to operate in passenger service. Also on display were representatives of the former West Bridgford UDC and South Notts bus fleets, both of which were taken over by NCT, one of the distinctive standard Nottingham buses of the 1970s and 80s, and a modern double-deck bus painted in the traditional trolleybus livery of green with three cream bands and red wheels.
