Great Western Train at Pershore Railway Station

Great Western Class 180, five-car DMU 180 102 stands at Pershore Station which, although it serves the town of Pershore. Is actually in the village of Pinvin, just over 1 mile to the north of Pershore. The station is on a single-track section of the Cotswold Line. The station and all trains serving it are operated by Great Western Railway. The Class 180 is a British diesel multiple-unit train built by Alstom between 2000 and 2001 for then-new express services operated by First Great Western (FGW). After recurring technical problems with the trains, FGW handed all the units back to the leasing company in March 2009 and they were subsequently reassigned to other companies. However, in 2012, FGW announced that it would be refurbishing and relaunching five Class 180 units. From July 2012, these re-entered service on the Cotswold Line, running most services between London and Worcester.
