SH7882 :: The Mad Hatter

The Mad Hatter by Stephen McKay
The Mad Hatter

This is one of four sculptures around Llandudno depicting characters from Alice in Wonderland. They were created by Simon Hedger from wood and erected in 2012. There is a somewhat tenuous connection between the book and the town; Alice Liddell (the 'real-life' Alice) spent holidays with her family here and it is possible that some of the book was written in the St George's Hotel. In the background is Little Ormes Head.
