The war memorial is outside the wall of the graveyard of St Lawrence's Church NU2406 : Warkworth Church and War Memorial. Its original location was just north of the old bridge and moved in 1963 when the new road bridge was built. It consists of a stone cenotaph within low curved walls which contain flower beds. At its foot is a container for cut flowers. At the top of the monument is a bronze laurel wreath. There are two bronze panels - one for each conflict.

The only photo posted to date that shows both spans (each 60') of the old bridge, which formerly had a cross ion the centre. Once there was also a portcullis in the gateway at the south end of the bridge. [Murray's Handbook:1890].
